Adding a class to a element and remove class from another element jquery

I have a div.product and inside it are <h4 class="producttitle"

element. I want to get the h4 class and add it to the.my_special class.
After that, I want to remove the class.producttitle from the h4 element and the.my_special class from the.producttitle element.
I tried this to get the h4 class:
let h4_classe = $(‘.producttitle’).attr(‘class’);

and to add the class to the.my_special class
let pdp_classe = $(‘.my_special’).attr(‘class’);

but I cant figure out how to remove the class.producttitle from the.my_special and add the class.my_special to the.producttitle.

A:

Since you know.producttitle and.my_special, you can do that in a succinct way using chaining.
var newClass = “”.concat(“.my_special”);
$(“#product”).addClass( h4_classe ).removeClass( newClass );

Alternatively, you could do it using.filter()
var newClass = “.my_special”;
$.each( $(“#product.producttitle”).filter(function() { return this.className === “producttitle” }), function() {
$(this
