The effect of heterogeneity of the optical properties on the transmittance is important. For example, it is one of the major factors limiting the performance in the fiber-optic communication. To obtain the transmittance at any point, the Monte-Carlo method with Gaussian random number is employed in our code in this study. We have developed a program package called TMT (Transmittance Monte-Carlo) which simulates the spatial distribution of the transmitted intensity by combining TME (Transmittance Monte-Carlo with Ericson-Kreuser’s method). The parameters of the simulation can be set on the basis of the real object. TMT is easy to use and is of great use in simulating the transmitted distribution of the light in turbid media.
