How to install RVM via PIP on Linux Mint 19.1?

So I wanted to upgrade to Ruby 2.6 on my laptop, because my ruby versions were stuck on 2.5 for reasons that have since been explained here and here. So I’ve since installed Ruby and Rails 6, but there’s a dependency problem because of the new version of Rails.
I go here to look for solutions http://rvm.io/rvm/install/
and scroll down to install as non-root. I run sudo apt-get install rvm but it doesn’t detect the dependency problem. I think I figured it out. I go install rvm manually using the following command sudo apt-get install build-essential libreadline6 g++ ruby ruby-dev libsqlite3 libyaml-dev libssl-dev libxml2 libxml2-devel zlib1g openssl gdb make libopenssl-compat-all libncursesw5 libncursesw6 libncurses5 libncurses-dev tk8.5 libtk8.5 libtcl8.5 libtcl8.6 python3-setuptools python3 bison openssl-devel pkg-config build-essential && wget https://dl.yarnpkg.com/rpm/rpm.key && wget https://dl.yarnpkg.com/rpm/rpm.sh && chmod 600 rpm.sh && sudo./rpm.sh -Uv && rm rpm.sh && sudo su -s /bin/sh -c “echo ‘ruby-build ist-devel doxygen curl diff’ >> /etc/yum.repos.d/ruby.repo” && sudo sed -i -e’s/precedence: [0/’ -e’s/curl =.*[‘ /etc/yum.repos.d/ruby.repo
