If you’re like me, you’ll be looking for fun and interesting pieces you can wear now and again. It’s not a regular thing, but what’s the fun in that? My first love is denim and so it’s no surprise that my favorite denim piece is my denim cuffed skirt!

If you’re like me, your waist is not the first place you want to hide it, so let’s get you into a denim cuffed skirt that will slim up this area. From my first denim skirt post, I wanted to come back and do some follow up posts on this topic because there’s just so much to talk about. This entire area of fitness can be a bit overwhelming, so I came up with some easy tips that will take you from workout to after!

1. Exercise, exercise, exercise.

Now I’m pretty sure this is going to seem a bit silly, but I want to make a few things clear. Exercise is essential for anyone to achieve great results, but the most important part is the mental one. Just getting up and going is not enough to get fit. Yes, of course physical exercise will help you burn off calories and improve your metabolism, but you have to do something with that energy. Your brain controls everything your body does. In fact, you can’t truly change or improve your fitness without also improving your mental health. Exercise changes your neurotransmitters, so you have to give your brain something to work on as well.

2. Work with your body, not against it.

If you look around the internet, you’ll see a lot of photos of people doing exercises that are incredibly high intensity. And while I’m the first to admit that you should work harder than you have to, you need to be careful not to overdo it. This is especially true if you’ve been trying to diet over the holidays. If you’re going to over do it just because you want that six pack, you’re going to be miserable and never see that end goal again.
